In university, my final year project with my group mates was a short film we made. As part of the process of developing our script and fleshing out our characters, we used a character profile to help us with it. A character profile requires a writer to form a character by coming up with things such as gender, ethnicity, habits, likes and dislikes, educational level, quirks and peculiarities etc. And so, for this entry, I thought I’d write about my peculiarities when it comes to food.
1. Taking off the lid of the cup of soy green tea latte I like to drink and licking the microfoam under the lid. Gross, I know. I make sure no one’s watching when I do that.
2. I don’t like raisins but like craisins (dried cranberries).
3. These days, I generally stay off meat. Am more of a pescetarian now. No more visits to steak houses.
4. Bittergourd is too bitter for me! Somehow can never take a liking to this vegetable.
5. I like mushy food. Mashed peas? Yes, please!
6. Don’t like potato but love sweet potato. I like the former only when it is mashed.
7. Love chocolate but hate candy and chewing gum.
8. But it’s only dark chocolate that I love. So it’s dark or nothing at all.
9. Mint flavoured anything? Pass. Not my thing at all. But I do like the fresh herb in salads, mojitos, and rice rolls.
10. I eat fast food only under do-or-die situations. Otherwise please do not even suggest having McDonald’s or KFC to me!
