鸭血汤 & 千层粉丝

Coagulated Duck's Blood

鸭血汤 (Duck's Blood Soup) was something I ate in Hangzhou. Apparently, duck's blood is good for the treatment of diarrhoea and nausea.

前層粉絲

千层粉丝 (Thousand Layered Vermicelli) is usually cooked together with the duck's blood but in this eatery, they sold it separately. 鸭血粉丝 originated from 南京 (Nanjing), a city about three hours by train from Shanghai.

I didn't particularly like the duck's blood nor the vermicelli in the clear soup. They weren't very tasty and actually I would go as far as calling them blend.

hi DSD, I am so NOT into eating blood (solid, jellied or any other form) regardless of how much good it may do me... I've seen this in Shanghai too and kept my distance!
