The race site

Dragonboats in action. The blue tent you see in the floating in the middle is the judges' stand at the finishing line. The three black boats right at the back are the race marshalls who also act as judges as the race is progressing. One thing they look out for is that the drummer of each boat is actively drumming the drum.

For some reason, the race officials insisted on this even though no one can hear the drumming sounds when the spectators are so far away! We rowers never take note of the drumming as well. When we row, it's like all noise is blocked out from our heads except for the voice of the coxswain and just concentrating on following the pace of the strokes of the front pair.
