The food at the Marriott Cafe sucks! Was very disappointed. All of us opted for the buffet lunch but soon grew to regret it as the dishes were very unexciting and didn't look very appetizing. The only nice dishes were the roasted duck and pan-fried cod. The raw oysters were pretty big and fresh but the sushi platter was quite dismal. It was lacking in variety and the sushi didn't look very good. And there was so sashimi! I was looking forward to having some sashimi but was sorely disappointed. The rest of the dishes were just like normal "chai peng" stuff which I could have gotten at a hawker centre for like a tenth of the price!
The dessert spread was probably it's only saving grace. I liked the green tea tiramisu, the black forest cake and the chocolate mousse cake. There were some other cakes which weren't too bad either.
But all in all, a not very satisfying dining experience. And I didn't know it until Friday, but if you sit in the alfresco dining area, it's considered Crossroads Cafe which is really only a place where people go to see and be seen if the food in the Marriott Cafe is anything to go by.
