Outdoors please!

I'm never stepping into California Fitness Centre again. I simply hate the crowded and sterile environment. It's all metal and machines. It's gross. I went last night 'cos I thought it'd be nice to make use of the two free visits a month (courtesy of the UOB Lady's credit card) and also to exercise with my friend who's a member.

But I've since decided that CFC is not for me. Thank goodness none of the very pushy personal trainers approached me to sell me some gym package. I really wonder how many of them are qualified personal trainers, 'cos they seem more like trained salespeople to me. The place's never getting me to fork out money for a membership that's for sure.

Every time I step into a gym like that, it just reminds me of the scene in the movie Gattaca where a line of people are running on treadmills and machines in order to attain perfection in their bodies.

The whole environment just makes me feel stressed with all the TV screens flashing and horrible music blaring away in the background. Look up at the ceiling and one sees all these pipes entwining themselves into some form of network and the aircon vents are blasting cold recycled air.

I say give me the outdoors anytime. I much prefer my swimming pool and MacRitchie Reservoir park or if I HAVE to exercise indoors, just the small little gym in my condo will do.

when i get back, we'll go play some tennis and do some rock-climbing! I miss that. and i'd love to try wake-boarding too.

yeah definitely! haven't done rock-climbing in a long while. actually the last time i did it was with you, which was ages ago!

and of course wakeboarding!

LOL at the Gattaca crack.

But seriously, outdoor activities -- you must be a pro at tennis now, and you also have wakeboarding -- are more fun than going to the gym, aren't they?

Hey, have a great time in HK. Must be excited!

Yeah, outdoor activities are definitely more fun! A million times more!

I wish I could say I were a pro in tennis by now, but no...i'm still very bad at it! But improving slowly. I hope.

Yep, am very excited about HK! Wished you could be there too! We'll take lots of pictures. I promise I'll be trigger-happy...be the over-zealous tourist. Will act as if it's the first time i'm leaving my sunny little island. :)

The only excercise-work-out that I do, is walking around the mall, eye-shopping....

Wayne: Haha...walking around the mall counts as exercise too...it's very tiring walking around the shops, running the hands along the clothes racks, walking in and out of fitting rooms etc.
