Dessert Freak

I've got a terrible weakness for dessert. At buffets, I find myself checking out the dessert section first. It's a strategy thing--you kinda have to mentally calculate how much room to leave for dessert. Anyway, after a nice Japanese meal for dinner last night with my family, my sister and I bought three different cakes to bring home to savour.

Among my mum, sis, and I, we devoured the three cakes below which we got from the Cedele Bakery. When we started eating, my sis said that I was very scary--i eat desserts at such an alarmingly fast rate compared to how I eat my main courses! Hahaha! Yes, I love my desserts!

Choc Almond Bar 1

A chocolate almond bar which my sis chose. I didn't like it as I found it too sweet. It's kinda sticky when you bite into it, and I thought it wasn't chocolatey enough. Nah. Doesn't do it for me.

Tiramisu

I made a big mess of this classic tiramisu. I know, it looks really gross like that. When I was removing it from the box, I let slip and it fell, which caused some slight disintegration. This tiramisu was ok--acceptable, but I've tasted better ones. The mascarpone cheese was pretty good. My only gripe was that there wasn't enough (maybe even none!) liquour in the sponge fingers, hence it was too dry. Didn't like that at all.

Carrot Walnut Cake 2

Ah, this Carrot Walnut cake is by far the best I've tried in Singapore. Generous amounts of walnut and cream cheese makes this a real delight!
