Strudel

Apple Strudel

Had this apple strudel for dessert yesterday. I love this dessert with its bits of apple, fresh cream and custard sandwiched between layers of light and crispy choux pastry. Yums!

The dessert supposedly originated from Perth and it became really popular in Singapore a couple of years back after many Singaporeans began to bring them back from Perth. There are plenty of Singaporeans in Perth and it's only 3.5 hours away from Singapore by plane so the strudel's still pretty fresh after the plane ride.

Anyhow, apple strudel outlets soon sprouted in Singapore giving those who can't afford to have weekend getaways in Perth a chance to savour apple strudels at our convenience.

yeah, i think this version of apple strudel is adapted from the german one. If i'm not wrong, the german apfel strudel usually doesn't have the fresh cream and custard, no? Maybe you can enlighten me.

That looks mighty tasty... have you considered a career in food photography?
