Art Museum

Decided to go arty-farty with a trip to the Singapore Art Museum (SAM)yesterday. My good friend Desiree, was doing her rounds as a volunteer docent so I decided to go on her guided tour as I haven't stepped foot into the SAM for about a year. Oh, when I was buying my ticket to enter the museum, the lady was going to give me a child ticket - I thanked her for thinking that I could still pass off as someone who could still be qualified to buy a child ticket. Haha.

While there, I viewed artworks by Southeast Asian and local artists. There was also a special exhibit on Swedish-designed products like furniture (e.g. IKEA), lights, bags and other interesting lifestyle products that are extremely functional but also aesthetically pleasing. Very interesting products and designs....the Swedes are such geniuses!

After viewing the exhibits, we went to have a very leisurely lunch at Olio Dome cafe which is in the museum. I had a chicken & mushroom pie and then a yummy apple pie for dessert. I'm a sucker for pies, both savoury and sweet ones.

Anyway, here are a couple of pics I took at the art museum.

Apple Pie

Nothing like hot apple pie accompanied by a scoop of old-fashioned vanilla ice-cream!
