Application Forms

In the past two weeks, I've gone for several interviews and filled up many application forms. What I never understand about these application forms is the need to submit information about my immediate family. The names, age and occupation of my immediate family members are usually required. Sometimes their contact details are required as well.

I don't see why such information is required when it has no bearing to the job whatsoever. I actually feel it's an invasion of my privacy, or rather my family's privacy. Maybe next time I should just leave it blank. Heehee.

My mum's on leave today! I'll be going to Chinatown later in the afternoon to shop for stuff to get ready for Chinese New Year! I love going to Chinatown during the buildup to a festive occasion. The period towards the Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival are my favourite times to visit Chinatown. Will report back on my trip later!

I can't believe Chinese New Year is coming up already, can you?!

Wow, those application forms sound really tedious and annoying! Total sympathy coming your way from Sydney. I'm guessing the concern with family contact details has to do with checking out your background and making sure you're not connected to...er, I dunno, does Singapore have a mafia?

Yes, Singapore does have a mafia - our very own government. haha!
