Today I received a very lovely gift from May! Thanks May! Oh, she's such a dear. I've been complaining so much about the cold and she decided to send me a cushion warmer! It's was a Senger Tierpuppen, which translated from German means Senger Toy Animal.
I got a brown rabbit with a white knob for a tail! :)
Australia is very strict with even post that's coming from overseas. My rabbit's body is supposed to be stuffed with cherry stone filling (The cherry stones heat up when warmed), and the Australian quarantine had problems with it. They took the cherry stone filling out of my rabbit's body! My poor rabbit is flat now!
They opened the package and when i got it, it had two labels on it. One saying "Opened by Australian Post for inspection by Quarantine" and another said "Please Open Immediately. Quarantine Documents Enclosed".
Then inside the package there was a brochure saying what cannot be mailed to Australia and another letter informing me that I have 3 options.
1) To send them payment of $42 so that the good will undergo Gamma Irradiation Treatment after which it'll be brought to me.
2) I pay them $42 and they return the package to sender.
3) The item will be destroyed after 30 days from date of notice if I do not take any action. i.e. send them $42 (what a rip-off!)
Anyway, I think I'll just find a replacement for the cherry stones. My aunt says I can buy some lavender which works just as well. oh well.
sorry Joan....the cherry seeds seemed harmless...
maybe you could still find them in Aussie...
Lavender sounds lovely....i have some here...but i wouldn't dare to send them to you now...
otherwise a mini hot water bottle should fit into the bunny's belly!
